Jetlagged's New Site!
Hello everyone. Welcome to the new Jetlagged Comic website! I have much anticipated this moment, after months, nay, years of planning and the final execution, it's finally a reality. I agonized over the layout, spending weeks looking at other web comic pages, pulling elements from that one not that one and so on. If you've ever tried building a website, maybe you can sympathize. If you haven't, just know that for someone as computer and coding illiterate as me, the sheer idea of tackling a website on my own was like putting a baby in the driver's seat of a bulldozer.
At least that's how it felt.
My computer illiteracy was like catnip for coders. They could smell my bewilderment a mile away. I paid--oh how I paid!-- painfully through the nose for website help. I was swindled. Bamboozled. Had I known building a comic website could actually be easy (and fun!) using the right tools, I would have gladly let those greedy coders go hungry. Alas, mistakes are the priceless lessons from the School of Hard Knocks.
And come to think of it, the creation and journey of Jetlagged has been a bit of a schooling in and of itself. To my knowledge, there is no other exclusive flight attendant cartoon making the same strides as Jetlagged in the aviation world. I am so very grateful and humbled by this. Back in 2011, just the idea of starting a comic strip dedicated to flight attendants had me pause to wonder if such a thing would actually be interesting to anyone. My husband assured me it would. For months I remained skeptical. Finally, I gave it a whirl and, well, here we are. So, as the little bird painting sitting above my desk says, "trust your wings!"
I made this new site with simplicity and cartoon focus in mind. I want you to find the comics faster, laugh quicker, share easier and have an overall jolly good time on the site for as long as you can. Of course, everything is a work in progress and I would love your feedback and ideas for improvements. Send me a message via the contact form with your ideas or if you just want to say "hi".
If this is your first time even hearing about Jetlagged Comic, I invite you to get your feet wet at the comics page. From there get to know Bev, then go over and see what Rob is up to. If you end up really enjoying yourself (which I think you will), consider bringing a little Jetlagged into your own life with Airplane Mode, Jetlagged's first book of cartoons.
I'm really glad you're here and I hope you enjoy all the cartoons. I also hope to make this blogging thing more regular (no promises). It might be touch and go. But rest assured cartoons will appear regularly!
