A riddle: If all the bins are open except for one, will the first passenger try to open it?
It's an easy riddle.
There are a few human behaviors that are so predictable. Like the one above. If bins are closed, even if pax see others are open with lots of space, inevitably they will open the closed ones.
It's actually kind of fun watching from the galley as people do this. Just like watching as people try to figure out how to open the lavatory door. Hey, I gotta get my kicks somewhere!
One of my cats, Bob, does a similar thing. If I close any door in the house, he'll go over to it, scratch it and then meow until I open it. I'll open it, then he'll go in for a like a second then come out and give me a look that says "Why'd you open it? There's nothing cool in there."
But do you want to hear something really disturbing? I recently couldn't figure out the lavatory door on my own airline.
I guess even I am not exempt. Maybe that just makes me human. Dang.
What other funny universal human behaviors do you notice?
