A Recap of Last Week's Holiday Events
Robert and I manning the Jetlagged Booth at the Alaska Airlines Mingle, Jingle and Shop Event
What a whirlwind! Last week was fun and crazy on many levels as I attended two different holiday events in Seattle.
The first was last Wednesday at the Alaska Airlines Mingle, Jingle and Shop Event. About 40 vendors attended and I was lucky enough to be one of them! My handsome husband Robert tagged along, helping me man the booth for 6 hours while talking with fans and meeting new ones. I had such a great time!
I’m rather new to this whole “booth” thing. I spent a solid month preparing items to sell, signage and designing the booth layout. But I’m very happy I did it. It forced me to create new products and get out of my shell (yes, I’m a hermit most of the time when I’m not flying!). As for new products, I created holiday greeting cards and a 2019 calendar along with my books, bag tags and gift packs.
As the evening wore on, luckily someone came around with drink tickets. Robert and I ended the fun day with a glass of wine and great wood fired pizza, compliments of Alaska Airlines. Thanks Alaska!
I didn’t advertise much about this last event, as only Alaska and Horizon Airlines employees are allowed to attend. But if you’re employed by either of these airlines, the Mingle, Jingle and Shop Event is held every year in December at the Alaska Airlines Headquarters. You can find more information about in your company emails and bulletins. Sorry to everyone else who’s not able to attend! However, if your airline hosts something similar and you’d like to see a Jetlagged Comic booth there, email me at kelly@jetlaggedcomic.com.
The second event was a book signing at the Seattle/Tacoma airport inside security at the Planewear store (near the B gates, main terminal). I had a great time signing books and calendars and seeing old and new fans plus hanging out with the lovely ladies, Amber and Rihanna, at Planewear!
Meeting fans and having fun signing books at Planewear in the SeaTac Airport
If you haven’t checked out the Planewear Store, it is a MUST! This store is so much fun, and especially if you’re flight crew. The owner, Jennifer, was a flight attendant herself, which means she’s got a great eye for relatable and usable flight crew gifts. It’s jammed with fun aviation, travel and flight attendant novelty items. It also has a NASA section where you can buy coats and other items for a really good price. Also (a little plug here) it’s the only store in the SeaTac airport that sells Jetlagged Comic products!
Thank you to everyone who came out to visit me this past week. I had a blast and look forward to doing it again next year.
